Ohhhh...i think he is just acknowledging that we all are not everyones cuppa tea. What Joe thinks/ feels is beautiful may not be for someone else. Like the saying : one persons trash is anothers treasure. the driver...ugh...i agree tho....why cant you just be a good driver period. Yeah back handed compliments are all over the place....~

Most times I come up with great comebacks LATER. Humans are the most dangerous animals on earth. If only animals had the ability to know when to keep away from us humans they would be better off.

He was stating a preference. Doesn't matter what she looks like, she's beautiful to HIM. Not the same as a back-handed compliment, which is what you got from the two men commenting on your driving. Pagan  Hmmmm....I know I left that wand around here somewhere!

I think they really believe they are paying you a compliment.
